Review - Alchimia Apothecary - Gladius

Review - Alchimia Apothecary - Gladius

Description:  This is a sophisticated blend of leather and black agar, sweetened by bergamot and lemon, sharpened by star anise, and it’s all mellowed down with some sweet vanilla.

In the Bottle: Leather, bergamot, slight lemon, and a hint of sweet vanilla.

Wet: Leather, bergamot, slight lemon, and a hint of sweet vanilla. It smells oddly sterile too, like a department store.

Drydown: Neutral leather, a sliver of lemon and the lightness the black agar with a touch of sweet vanilla.

Throw:  Low

Wear Time: 2.5 hours for a single application.

Verdict: Not bad, a little unexpected. I actually really enjoy the leather smell which to me smells sort of neutral, and a tinge of bergamot and black agar making it almost a light yet dark floral.

The standard Alchimia Apothecary sample vial is a droplet top dram  of 1.5ml. It came clearly labeled, though the fonts were not as clear as they could have been.
